Topic: RE: What are you packing?
I'm going in Monday and will finish putting together my list this weekend. On another thread someone mentioned chap stick and Gas-X, so I'll be sure to add them.

Good for you, Ramona! I'm scheduled for Monday, too, and I've finally gone from mostly anxious to mostly excited. I'm going to spend the day tomorrow getting together all the things I'll need to take to the hospital and things I'll need once I get home. On Sunday I'm going bowling (I'm in a league--I'm really bad at it, but I love the camaradrie...I'm guessing I'm going to have to miss the next few weeks, so I'm looking forward to it this weekend.) My mother and sister are traveling to be with me Sunday evening, and then Monday it's off to the races!
I'm so tired of the liquid diet that the surgery is going to be blessed relief!

Hi all. I am a newbie to the site and haven't had the surgery yet. I've got a few days to go. This site has been so beneficial in helping me have a support system. I'm a bit lacking in that area in my surroundings. I really appreciate the honesty in sharing.
I'm counting down and keep going between dread and anxious levels of ...."Come on, already!!" I'm doing the footwork as best I can without giving in to the fear. I hope to hear from people in their journeys and have a chance to be there for others.
Thanks for being here!

Topic: RE: Insurance question
Hi, as long as your secondary approve the procedure, you are fine. The office and hospital will have to get a denial from the primary to bill the claim to the secondary. It is kinda like you only have one insurance, you will be responsible for any co-pays or deductibles that are not covered under your plan.. I know, cause I work in the bariatric world of authorizations. This is my primary job. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks

Wow, you must have done great! I had my surgery on Monday (9am) as well and they wouldnt let me out of bed until Tuesday morning. It was so nice to get up and walk around. Those first few days in the hospital were rough for me. I got to go home Wed around 3 pm. I'm still in some pain, mostly stomach muscle pain, and that left side where the drain was is killing me! But I know it will all be worth while! Good luck on your recovery and here's to a good weekend!

Topic: RE: September 24
Crystal, you and I have two things in common--cravings and a 9/24 date. (Apparently, there are a bunch of us!) There have been so many times when I wanted to drive to the Sonic Drive-In and get mozzarella sticks and Ranch or eat doughnuts at work, etc. etc.
I am, however, doing pretty well. I have tried very hard to focus on the things I CAN eat, rather than crying over the sacrifice of sweet and gooey cr__. Tonight, I had grilled Tilapia, steamed vegetables, whole wheat bread w/margarine spray, and lite vanilla yogurt. It's all about attitude and changing the way we think about food. But don't get me wrong--it's NOT a piece of cake (nice choice of words, huh...).
I told my husband last night that I'm going to start rewarding myself with $5 or $10 every time I deny a craving. I have a Wells Fargo checking account that has a savings account attached, so I can go online and transfer money into savings with a click of a button. That way, I can set aside money for all the "petite" outfits I plan to buy!
Onward and upward, Crystal! We can do this!
(By the way, I've lost 24 pounds, and I'm hoping my liver is skinny in there!)
Best of luck to you!
